Wedding and Family!

The last couple weeks have been quite a whirlwind of trips and time spent with family! We had the opportunity to head out to Nauvoo, IL for Drew's brother Scott and new wife Rachel's wedding. We flew out on the 8th into Chicago and then road tripped it down to Nauvoo. We stayed in a old house owned by Rufus Abbott. It was really neat, they rent out old houses to families who come to visit.

Friday morning I woke up early to take a jog around Nauvoo. I found myself at the Temple. It was so peaceful and surreal. Then we all headed to a the wedding luncheon to meet Rachel's family. It was so great to spend time with the Champion's there, catching up and laughing like always. After that we headed to the Temple for the wedding. Little did we all know that while we were at the Temple Pres. Monson was there also. We didn't get a chance to see him, but if you go to www.ldschurchnews.com you will see Rachel and Scott meeting him outside. What a great opportunity. The sealing was so spiritual and the looks on their faces you could tell that they had been waiting for this for a long time. They are so happy and we are so happy for them!

After picture's we headed down to the part of Nauvoo where Joseph Smith and Emma lived and are buried. It was so surreal again to be on the same ground that Joseph Smith once walked. Saturday we headed out early to go visit Carthage Jail where Joseph Smith died. What a great experience! The spirit there is so strong and humbling. We then road tripped into Missouri for the reception that night. It was so gorgeous and again they looked so happy. What a great opportunity it was to be a part of that! We are so happy to have Rachel a part of the family. She has such a fun, patient, and unique personality and a plus is that we are great friends! Congratulations again guys, we are so so happy for you!

This last weekend we decided last minute to head up to Utah for Scott and Rachel's open house and to spend some more needed time with family. We drove in Friday and Drew and Scott were lucky enough to play a show at Comedy Sportz. What a great job they did. HILARIOUS!

Saturday the Champions had a Birthday party for L our Niece and then our Uncle Mike. What a fun family, I don't think I can say that enough. Always laughing and having a good time! After that Drew and Scott headed to see a movie (http://www.paranormalactivity-movie.com/) while Rachel and I headed to get her and her mom's hair done all pretty. Her cousin did such a great job! That night was their open house at the Champion home. It was a great turn out and it was also good to see old friends for Drew and I.

After the reception we were all planning our dance party. A tradition from Drew and I's open house. It was so much fun that we even got Drew's parent's to join in. It was SUCH A BLAST! Sunday we headed up to spend time with the Holmstead's. We were both looking forward to seeing everyone and of course relaxing which is easy to do at my families place. We picked up my sister on the way and then had a fun family dinner. It was really good to spend time watching movies, playing rock band, catching up on old times and basically just seeing everyone.
