What a weekend! It all started Friday morning when my alarm didn't go off for work. So I called in and asked for the day off. It was much needed! So I waited patiently for Drew to wake up to tell him I got the day off so we could relax and spend some time together. After he woke up we decided to head out to go see a movie. So we headed over to Universal Studio's to the theatre on the City Walk. We saw "Burn After Reading" interesting, I really didn't like it but Drew thought it was smart and interesting. Makes sense coming from a film person. Then we headed home and this is when it mostly all started. Drew got an email back from the place that he interviewed for, for the intern position and he didn't get it. No big deal, but it was pretty discouraging. So we tried to keep up beat. I tried to give Drew a pep talk and then we headed to check email and such and Drew got an email from another film company for another interview for an intern position. So we were very optimistic at this point. Then later that evening we got invited by our friends to go swimming over at their place so we got ready and were heading out the door when we noticed glass all over the road by our car. So we walked out to see what it was and saw that someone broke our drivers side front window and took the GPS we were borrowing from my mom. There was glass everywhere. It was such a terrible thing to see. We weren't really upset about our car, we were mostly upset about the GPS we were borrowing and not being able to find our way around. So we called 911 and they didn't send anyone out they just took a report, then told us to clean up the mess and come pick up the report on Monday. So we just headed back inside after cleaning everything up and then our neighbors came over with some Pie that I had been begging for earlier. Thank you so much Tiff and Eric. You guys are awesome. Then after eating pie we were throwing things away and found a colony of Ants in and around our garbage can. I was done at this point. So we just headed to bed and hoped the next day would bring resolution and happier things.
We woke up Saturday, I started to clean the apartment and broke the garbage can in the process. So we headed out to Target to buy a new garbage can, raid, and ant traps. We came back to the apartment and finished cleaning up the ants and the apartment and then relaxed for a while. Then we got a call from another friend we have met out here, her name is Amanda and she wanted to get out of the house for the evening just like us so we headed out to pick her up in Beverly Hills. We found out she lives in the same neighborhood as Brittany Spears, Gwen Steffani, and Ed McMann. We picked her up and headed out to In and Out Burger for dinner and then Drew let us go see "Nights in Roadanthe". It was a pretty good show. Then we came home and headed to bed.
Now it is Sunday, we went to church, it was so Great. Now Drew is napping, I am blogging and watching Chocolat, and things are all well. I just need to remember to tell myself that you need to experience the bad to know and appreciate the good that comes. We are excited for a new week and especially for General Conference next week. And we are also headed back to Utah for visit in a couple weeks which we are excited about. Hope all is well with everyone and we can't wait to hear from anyone. Have a Great week everyone.

So sorry to hear about the crappy weekend. And I'm sorry to hear about the GPS being stolen. Don't you just feel so violated when that happens? Tim's ipod was stolen from our Jimmy back when we were first married and now we are completely paranoid - his ipod was even hidden, so they were just rummaging around our car. They used a hanger to get in...And yeah. Very upsetting!!! So I understand and I'm sorry you had to experience that! I'm glad things picked up and yes - we all have Conference to look forward to! Thank goodness for that!
I've noticed that as a rule of the universe, when one crappy thing happens, at least five more crappy things will happen right after that. Ants are gross and so are people who steal GPS systems. Hopefully it will make a funny memory in a few years...or decades.
Oh Sar I am sorry!! But you seem optimistic and I am sure that you know everything will work out! I hope that we will be able to meet up when you are in Utah! Talk to you soon!
Bummer of a day!! I can't believe that your car was broken into! That so sucks!! I hate ants too - and it's my personal mission to kill every single ant I see...(ok, only the ones in my kitchen. They are so yucky!) Things will pick up - you get to come to Utah in a couple weeks... that will be fun right??
Wow, that really sucks that someone broke into your car. I was wondering about burn after reading. thanks for the review.
Yikes. I'm glad you pulled through. I appreciate your optimistic outlook.
This so called "Amanda" had better not be attempting to replace me. I bet she won't buy you a drink.
I am so sorry about your car. I am glad you are doing well besides the bad weekend. Hope to see you when you come to Utah!
I hate when stuff like happens! Sorry Sarah. We had to get a GPS when we went to Chicago and I always was so nervous about getting it stolen! It is seriously your life line. When are you coming back. Jodee and I are getteing together at my place on the 23rd. We'd LOVE to see you.
